Blog 8 : English language challenges

Hi uh, this is the last blog of the course and it feels kind of weird to do "feedback" throughout the semester. This was my first semester with the course, due to the result of the English test. The truth is, I suppose it is a new experience to have English classes at a distance or behind a screen. Despite this I think it was a good way to approach the course, with remote activities and group interactions. Within these remote activities, for the first time I experienced the use of these same blogs - yes, the ones you read before and this one included - it was something completely new, since it addressed different topics every week, and being related to personal tastes and own experiences , I found it quite entertaining to talk about yourself. On the other hand, it is not always perfect in all aspects, and personally I think that in my case, I fail a bit when speaking with fluency, my head is at times thinking about what I will say and thinking about whether it is what I really want. I want to say or answer, to correct this I think that making monologues with myself in English could help to partly improve this slow fluency, in addition to this, perhaps listening to more English, mainly with series or movies. And regarding this, another somewhat important point appears, since daily practice also benefits a lot, in my case, I use English for certain games, either communicating in voice or in writing, but mainly by voice, I must mention all of them. forms that are somewhat short phrases and not long sentences or interactions. While this helps maintain it, it may not be the ideal practice.

To finish the post and also the course, I would like to say that I hope to continue learning and improving my English in the best possible way :), we will see you soon (?

Blog 7 - What things would I change about my study program or career?

Today I intend to talk about my career or study program, which consists of 2 cycles, one with introductory branches and the other with optional branches to enter the specializations of psychology, the career has an extension of 5 years. During the 2 years that I have been studying the academic load is quite above all in the field of readings and essay writing. Although matters such as statistics differs from the rest, since we use computer software. Regarding the faculty, its infrastructure and facilities, unfortunately due to the pandemic I have not visited the faculty, I suppose it is somewhat tragicomic to be in the second year and not have set foot in the university. Considering the global pandemic in the same way, the classes had to be adapted to an online format that has been somewhat complicated at times, this due to how it affected us personally, both teachers and students. Despite this, the teachers have been in charge of finding interactive ways to encourage participation and motivation for each class, either with video capsules, assistantships, online activities, etc. Branches such as developmental psychology or psychopathology are quite entertaining, as they mix these two aspects and become very interactive courses and give us a glimpse of what the next branches will be in the following years. Personally I think that I would not change anything in the study program at this time, I think it is quite fruitful for the conditions in which we find ourselves and gives us a good basis to prepare ourselves as future psychologists, both in theoretical and practical aspects :)
